Considering Lawn Alternatives via Zoom

Wednesday, September 137:00—8:00 PMZoom

It is estimated that lawns cover 32 million acres in the United States. In fact, turf is the largest crop grown in the US. But is there another way?

Join Trevor Smith, Design and Education Manager for Weston Nurseries, for a virtual talk on the why, what, and how of lawn alternatives.

Transitioning your lawn away from a traditional turf lawn can lead to benefits such as:

•    Less maintenance - believe it or not alternative lawns require little to no fertilizer, irrigation and weeding once established

•    Low to no mow - depending on your choice you may need to cut once a year

•    Improved water use - many alternatives have strong and deep root systems which improve water efficiency through decreased irrigation and the hydrology of your property

•    Supporting pollinators and native wildlife with native alternatives

We will discuss different plant options that could replace some or all of your traditional turf lawn, as well as the steps needed to get started with your alternative lawn.

This program will be recorded and a link to the recording will be shared with everyone who registers.
