Guided Wetlands Walk

Thursday, May 164:00—5:00 PMGazebo behind Town Offices at 381 Main St.

Join West Newbury Conservation Commission Chair, Molly Hawkins, and Conservation Agent, Michelle Greene, for a family friendly walk around one of West Newbury’s many wetlands. We’ll get up close and personal with a wetland and take a hands-on look at wetlands soils, wetlands plants, and, if we’re lucky, some special animals that call wetlands their home. Come prepared to get dirty. Boots/closed toe shoes are required for the walk and clothes that can get messy are strongly encouraged, and consider bringing/applying bug spray.

We will be exploring the wetlands and vernal pool behind Action Cove park and the connected wetland adjacent to Daley Drive. To not interfere with other activities going on a Action Cove, please park in the back lot of the Town Office Building and meet at the gazebo/bandstand. Once everyone is gathered, we will walk to the wetlands together.

A rain date is scheduled for May 23rd at 4pm.

In the event that a wait list forms for this event, we may schedule an additional walk. All wait-listed registrants will be notified and given preference for that walk.

Registration for this event has now closed.
